What is CBD?
CBD, an abbreviation of “cannabidiol”, is one of the main occurring phytocannabinoids (out of 113) in the hemp plant alongside THC, where THC is somewhat more famous for being the psychoactive substance that creates the “high” people often refer to or think of whenever Cannabis is mentioned. CBD does not do this. On the other hand, it has been shown that it may provide a wide range of benefits and relief to many ailments in humans and animals. Today, a huge list of public people like athletes and entertainers swear by the use of CBD to optimize their daily lives (check out some of their opinions here).
The Endocannabinoid System or ECS that is part of our cellular system regulates many bodily functions and is stabilized by naturally occurring cannabinoids produced in our bodies. Stress from modern life such as pollution, food additives and mental stress have been discussed as huge contributors to putting the endocannabinoid system into a state of chaos, worsening a range of problems a lot of people tend to suffer from due to inflammation. CBD from hemp may be an excellent addition to help aid our endocannabinoid system into a state of balance, equilibrium and homeostasis. In a state of homeostasis, all bodily systems work normally, allowing the wonder of our body to heal and repair itself, and shift back into the state in which nature intended us to be. Hemp has been used since ancient times for healing purposes, but modern science is only starting to uncover what it could do to help people in need of relief today.
